A hybrid motion control framework features both decentralized and centralized motion control components on one machine or platform.

Generally speaking, hybrid automation systems work best when you can use:

Decentralized systems such as servo motors with integrated drives, machine-frame-mountable power converters and servo controllers drive and control most of the axes in a machine
Centralized, cabinet-based drives and power supplies are used for power-intensive machine axes
